- ➤ Lee County Schools will spend over $1.7 million to build a new bus workshop at the Smiths Station annex near the high school baseball and softball fields so that more buses are maintained closer to where most students ride—Beasley Construction won the contract and construction will finish by May. The school board also adopted a new cell phone policy under the FOCUS Act that will require students to turn off their devices during classes and may later be updated to include staff.
