- ➤ Auburn University’s SGA announced the top five candidates for Miss Auburn 2026: Meghan George, Riley Johnson, Camilla Loard, Eliza Sundberg and Virginia Anne Holmes. The candidates will campaign to inspire the Auburn Family in the student election — a role that represents the university’s spirit and hospitality — as they prepare for active leadership and service. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ State troopers are warning drivers in Auburn to be extra careful on rural and wooded roads as vehicle-versus-wildlife crashes rose in 2024, with 1,652 incidents mostly occurring from October through February — drivers are urged to use high beams at dawn and dusk, avoid swerving, and always buckle up. This safety reminder is part of ongoing efforts to reduce collisions during fall and winter. AL.com

- ➤ Auburn Athletics and Peachtree Entertainment announced a long-term partnership to host at least five concerts at Neville Arena and Jordan-Hare Stadium in the next five months. The concerts will feature faith-based worship and country music—with performances by Josiah Queen, Hulvey and Claire Leslie on November 15, Riley Green on November 28 and Parker McCollum on February 13. - ➤ Alabama's Department of Human Resources began uploading full SNAP benefits onto EBT cards today after receiving guidance from USDA because the federal government has reopened. The department expects those who normally receive benefits on November 14 or later to get them on their usual day this month (some may already see payments). AL.com
