BUSINESS NEWS

  • The upscale rooftop restaurant Olivine is set to open Wednesday, Nov. 19 on the sixth floor of downtown AC Hotel Auburn. The restaurant offers seating for 186 with indoor, outdoor, and private dining options — serving Italian-inspired dishes and cocktails with stylish decor and a live DJ.  AL.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Federal SNAP benefits—100% federally funded—will be suspended for November due to the government shutdown, and recipients can use funds already loaded on their EBT cards until new benefits are issued. Applicants will continue to recertify and apply as officials work to restart funding once Congress reaches a resolution.  WAKA

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Stone Martin Builders launched its new Build On Your Land program on Sept. 23, letting property owners choose from 73 floor plans + customize finishes as they design their dream home on their own land. The program guides buyers through a pre-construction questionnaire, design call, and onsite testing, and Auburn residents with family land can participate if their property is within 15 miles of a current location.  The Auburn Plainsman

SPORTS NEWS

  • The SEC announced kickoff times for Week 11 games on Nov. 8, with Auburn at Vanderbilt set for 3 p.m. on the SEC Network—LSU will face Alabama at 6:30 p.m. and Texas A&M will play Missouri at 2:30 p.m.  AL.com
  • Auburn’s secondary made five interceptions in two games as Crawford and Lee earned a pick in the Missouri loss and Pleasant made two, including a pick-six in the Arkansas win—Coach Freeze said the defense played only 43 snaps and will adjust the corner rotation for Saturday’s game against Kentucky at 6:30 p.m.  AL.com
  • Auburn coach Hugh Freeze reacted to college football coaching changes after Brian Kelly’s firing from LSU—he said he had not spoken with AD John Cohen since leaving the field on Saturday and is not focused on job rumors.  AL.com
  • The SEC announced that Alabama will face LSU in prime time on November 8 at Bryant-Denny Stadium with a kickoff at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC. This game marks LSU's first match without former head coach Brian Kelly.  AL.com
  • Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze said that wide receiver Cam Coleman, who returned to Saturday’s game after an ankle injury, showed improvement on Monday but his status for the Kentucky game remains unknown. Freeze added that running back Durell Robinson will return this week after missing six games while senior receiver Horatio Fields remains sidelined with a broken foot—he may get a medical redshirt decision after the season.  AL.com
  • Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze said his coaching staff (who admitted doubts after Jackson Arnold’s pick-six) stayed focused, and the Tigers rallied behind a defense (which forced four turnovers) to complete their largest comeback by overcoming an 11-point deficit to beat Arkansas 33-24.  AL.com
  • Roger McCreary, a former Auburn standout, was traded by the Titans to the Rams on Monday in an NFL deal that exchanged a sixth-round pick for a fifth-round pick in 2026 — moving him from a team with a 1-7 record to one tied for first in the NFC West.  AL.com
  • The 55th annual AHSAA Elite Eight volleyball State Championship Tournament begins today at Birmingham CrossPlex with 56 teams competing in seven classes, and quarterfinal and semifinal matches take place at the CrossPlex while championships will be held Wednesday at the Bill Harris Arena.  AL.com
  • Auburn’s game against Vanderbilt will kick off at 3 p.m. CT on November 8 on SEC Network— the Tigers will try to end a three-game losing streak after last season’s loss.  AL.com
  • Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold was benched last weekend against Arkansas after throwing a pick six that put the team behind at halftime. Coach Freeze praised Arnold’s maturity—saying he is ready to compete in the open contest with Ashton Daniels for the starting role against Kentucky.  AL.com
