COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 32nd annual Beat Bama Food Drive kicked off on October 3 on Haley Concourse when Auburn students and community members gathered to donate non-perishable food for the East Alabama Food Bank—volunteers hosted a dunk tank and offered free food. The drive will continue until November 20, featuring additional events to boost donations.  The Auburn Plainsman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Auburn Mayor Ron Anders held his seventh State of the City Address on Oct.2 at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center where he outlined completed projects and announced future plans—such as street improvements, a new police precinct, and expanded community facilities. He also presented the 2025 Lamplighter Awards and honored the legacy of Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle while noting economic and educational advancements.  The Auburn Plainsman

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new hotel in downtown Auburn with six floors and 129 rooms has been in the works since 2022 and will open on October 8.  Opelika-Auburn News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Action 8’s Lace Up Sports published high school football scores from October 2nd and 3rd — Auburn lost 36–0 to Central-Phenix City as schools from various classes recorded their wins and losses.  WAKA
  • Vintage photos show Auburn fans cheering for the Tigers from the 1950s to 2008—these rare images reveal a long tradition of loyalty—and remind us that true support lasts in both wins and losses.  AL.com
  • Auburn basketball coach Steven Pearl said key players Tahaad Pettiford and Keyshawn Hall will stay with the team—helping the program avoid a rush to the transfer portal amid recent coaching changes. Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze said he will work on improving quarterback play during the bye week and prepare the team for next Saturday's game honoring Cam Newton.  AL.com
