SPORTS NEWS

  • Yesterday, Auburn’s offense struggled in College Station against No. 9 Texas A&M as they recorded only 177 yards and went 0-for-13 on third downs. Coach Hugh Freeze blamed the poor ground game on his staff and said the team will rework its strategy during a bye week ahead of the Oct. 11 game at Jordan-Hare Stadium — a matchup that will feature the retirement of Cam Newton’s No. 2 jersey.  The Auburn Plainsman
  • Auburn Volleyball beat Alabama in three straight sets Friday night at Neville Arena, recording a 10-2 season record & drawing over 3,000 fans. Sophomore Lauren Dreves led with strong offensive stats as the Tigers prepare to face Mississippi State today in SEC play.  The Auburn Plainsman
  • No. 1 Auburn will head to Fort Worth, Texas for the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational from Monday to Tuesday. The Tigers, led by junior Josiah Gilbert and star Jackson Koivun, aim to build on a second-place finish at their last tournament — tying at the Honors Course.  The Auburn Plainsman
  • On Saturday, Texas A&M beat Auburn 16-10 on the road with Le’Veon Moss running for a career-high 139 yards and a touchdown while the defense held Auburn to 176 yards. Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said the offense was unacceptable — noting the team converted just 3 of 27 third-down plays as it prepares to host Georgia on Oct. 11.  WAKA
