- ➤ Auburn police said a California man died when his commercial vehicle went off I‑85 near mile marker 56 Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m.—first responders took extra time to reach him due to extensive cab damage as the wreck was found 40 to 50 yards off the roadway in the woods and the crash is under investigation.
