  • Auburn police said on Tuesday that human remains were found inside an abandoned structure on the 2500 block of East University Drive—items at the scene linked the body to 50-year-old Julian Edward 'Eddie' Nichols III, who was reported missing on June 10 and showed no signs of criminal activity.  WAKA
  • Former Auburn linebacker D'Angelo Barber was arrested on Monday for marijuana trafficking, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia as reported by Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force — he has been released from the team.  WAKA

  • Lee County Probate Court has issued several notices requiring creditors to file claims on estates including those of Robert Fred Lumpkin Sr. and David E. Goolsby, while Opelika is accepting public comments on fair housing until 4 p.m. on August 4 and Extra Space Storage will hold an Auburn auction on 07/24/2025 at 10:00 a.m.—bids must be paid in cash.  The Observer
