- ➤ On Thursday, social media users across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina shared pictures of a rare daytime fireball seen in the sky, which NASA said was a meteor fragment that created a sonic boom resembling an earthquake. - ➤ Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama is changing its process for getting insurance approval for some treatments and drugs so doctors and patients can get care faster+ the state's largest insurer will review unapproved requests by a clinician and send clear next-step notices. It will also reduce prior authorization for some in-network services by 2026+ speed up most electronic requests by 2027 while keeping prior approvals during a 90-day transition when patients switch plans.
