  • Gov. Kay Ivey introduced Huntley, a three-year-old female yellow lab who now lives in the Governor’s Mansion and sometimes joins her at the capitol office—she is named Alabama’s new First Dog following the passing of her longtime companion Missy earlier this year.  AL.com

HEALTH NEWS

  • A measles case was reported in Lee County—ADPH Chief Medical Officer Dr. Karen Landers said the measles vaccine is safe and effective at producing lifelong immunity.  Opelika-Auburn News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Auburn baseball added five transfers last season—pitchers Jake Marciano and Drew Whalen and hometown star Todd Clay—to strengthen its push for the 2026 title. The Tigers will build on these moves as the transfer portal remains open until July 1.  The Auburn Plainsman
