EDUCATION NEWS

  • Auburn University is facing a lawsuit by employee Henry Moreman who claims his demotion was due to racial discrimination. The jury trial is set for December 2026 — his demotion restricts him from holding supervisory roles until 2029 — and the university did not comment on the pending litigation.  The Auburn Plainsman

  • At Legion Field on November 30, 1985, Alabama beat Auburn 25-23 when Tiffin's 52-yard field goal ended a thrilling Iron Bowl marked by four lead changes & dramatic plays such as Gene Jelks' 74-yard touchdown run. The game, which featured scoring drives from both teams and a last-second call that gave Alabama the win, remains one of the most unforgettable finishes in the rivalry & is still remembered by fans today.  AL.com
  • Auburn baseball star Ike Irish has used his walkup song (Birds Flying High) to boost fans and teammates at Plainsman Park, a tradition begun by his teammates when he was in a slump.
