SPORTS NEWS

  • Three-star cornerback Nash Johnson III pledged to Auburn’s 2027 team after decommitting from Alabama in April. The recruit, who visited during Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend, is the first 2027 cornerback committed to the Tigers and boosts a ten-player class.  AL.com
  • Three-star safety Knyair Crumb visited Auburn this weekend, praising safety coach Tim Banks and coach Alex Golesh and saying the Tigers rank high on his list. He has more visits planned with Penn State, Syracuse + one more school.  AL.com
  • Auburn edged NC State on Saturday, May 29 to keep their season alive and now must secure three wins as they will face UCF (a team also fighting elimination) in a Sunday regional contest.  AL.com
  • Thirteen players from local schools advanced to the UFL playoffs after Week 10, highlighted by former McGill-Toolen standout Eric Garror’s pick-six for Louisville. Playoffs include Orlando Storm vs. DC Defenders (2 p.m.) at Historic Crew Stadium and St. Louis Battlehawks vs. Louisville (5 p.m.) at the Dome at America’s Center.  AL.com
  • Auburn baseball lost its regional opener (13-8) to Milwaukee on Friday and now must win four games in a row in the losers bracket to advance. Their next contest is set for 2 p.m. CT Saturday against either Central Florida or North Carolina State.  AL.com
  • Thirteen former SEC stars appear on the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 ballot while more than 200 eligible players meet the All-American criteria. The National Football Foundation will announce the Class of 2027 ballot on Monday.  AL.com
  • Auburn football head coach Alex Golesh praised defensive backs coaches Tim Banks & DeMarcus Van Dyke as veteran leaders at spring practice as the team added five corner transfers and retained key players. The Tigers are gearing up for fall camp to build on their strong secondary.  AL.com
