REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Auburn officials approved a nearly 59-acre development that will bring a second Kroger grocery store, commercial spaces, a park, and 200 senior apartments. Construction will begin later this year at North Donahue Drive and Shug Jordan Parkway.  AL.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Auburn basketball has improved its offseason process under coach Steven Pearl after hiring GM Brian Kloman from Louisville, who set up transfer portal meetings. The Tigers signed five players and will begin season prep in June with a foreign tour in Greece in August.  AL.com
  • Auburn’s baseball team shut out Texas A&M 7 to 0 at Plainsman Park on April 2, scoring five runs in the first two innings and earning its first SEC tournament semifinal appearance since 2003. Auburn then faced Arkansas in the semifinals, with first pitch starting around noon CT after Florida & Georgia concluded.  AL.com
  • Auburn Football’s assistant coach contracts were disclosed, showing salaries from $450,000 to $2.7 million (with bonus ties to championship performance) as part of major staff changes. The public records review was released during spring practice at (Jordan-Hare Stadium) in Auburn.  AL.com
