  • Auburn Public Library invites everyone to join its 'Color Our World' Summer Learning Challenge that starts June 1 & ends July 31 while online registration begins May 19.  The Auburn Villager

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Auburn will hold its Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday from Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20—when select items will be exempt from sales tax.  Opelika-Auburn News
  • At Tuesday’s regular meeting, the Auburn City Council appointed Boyd to the Board of Zoning Adjustment — the council also approved a bridge project.  The Auburn Villager

SPORTS NEWS

  • Auburn has set dates for its annual AMBUSH coaches caravan that will see head football coach Hugh Freeze, Steven Pearl, Butch Thompson, Larry Vickers, DJ Durkin, Derrick Nix and athletics director John Cohen join meet-and-greet events benefiting the school’s scholarship fund. The tour stops on Monday, June 23 at Green Island Country Club in Columbus, Ga. from 4:30 to 7:15 p.m. Eastern — Wednesday, July 2 at Willow Point Country Club in Alexander City from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Central and Monday, July 14 at The Dogwood at Westside Paper in Atlanta from 6 to 9 p.m. Eastern.  AL.com
  • Auburn baseball lost 3-2 to Texas A&M in the SEC tournament after an early offensive stall and a key call in the eighth that ended their run—now the team awaits its NCAA tournament seeding.  AL.com
