  • The Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department will hold its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 12th at 7 p.m. CST at Providence Baptist Church (West Campus) in Opelika, inviting all residents and interested parties to attend.  The Observer

  • Crumbl is offering its new Pink Velvet Cake for Mother's Day from May 4-9 as part of a limited dessert menu that includes Cookies and Cream Cheesecake, Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cookie, and Galaxy Brownie Cookie on Star Wars Day — a sweet celebration for dessert lovers.  AL.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Auburn rookie Keldric Faulk attended the Titans minicamp on May 1 but skipped drills as coach Saleh required baseline strength and conditioning tests to check readiness (citing past injury concerns). Faulk welcomed the cautious approach as he prepares for the NFL.  AL.com
  • Portland Cascade drafted former Hewitt-Trussville standout Kenleigh Cahalan on Monday in the AUSL Draft; the Florida player, noted for her stellar stats + leadership at Alabama and Florida, will join the team after her NCAA season ends as the league shifts to home cities with a season launch on June 9.  AL.com
  • Philip Rivers joked that had he chosen Auburn in 2000 he might have played as a tight end for Jason Campbell, who helped lead the Tigers to an undefeated season. He noted Auburn’s decision was wise (Campbell became a key player) and his remark highlighted a humorous what-if scenario.  AL.com
  • No. 6 Auburn Tigers will play UAB today at 6 p.m. CDT at Regions Field in Birmingham in their second meeting this season — Auburn had a 17-2 win earlier and holds a 22-5 record against UAB since 2001.  The Auburn Plainsman
  • At the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame induction on Sunday, former Auburn stars Jason Campbell and Ronnie Brown said coach Tommy Tuberville was always networking (shaking hands on the sidelines), so his move into politics was not surprising.   • Former Auburn guard Kaden Magwood transferred to Murray State, making him the fourth player from the 2025 roster to seek a new opportunity. He played a key role during Auburn’s NIT run after limited minutes earlier in the season.  AL.com
  • Auburn basketball coach Steven Pearl is assembling his 2026 roster by adding seven new players from transfers, international recruits, and local high schools alongside three returning players. The team will begin organized sessions in June (and plans a foreign tour to Greece in August) to prepare for the season.  AL.com
