Good morning, Auburn. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 27th of April.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Executive Director Martha Henk said cuts to USDA programs will reduce the food bank’s donations by 20—40%, a drop that could leave over 63,000 local residents, including 19,310 children, without enough food. The organization is urging local donors and partner agencies to help fill the gap as food insecurity grows in the area.  Opelika-Auburn News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Bitty and Beau's Coffee in Homewood will close on April 30 because its operating model has become unsustainable — the shop has been known for hiring people with disabilities. The company said its decision came after trying to find a viable solution, and the Auburn location will remain open for local customers — keeping its inclusive mission alive.  AL.com
