- ➤ NASA scientists on a research plane used the sensor AVIRIS-3 to find a 120-acre brush fire three miles east of Castleberry on March 19 — and they sent mapping data to emergency crews, which helped Alabama firefighters know the hottest spots — so they could move fast to stop the blaze. AL.com
