  • Auburn Parks and Recreation will host the 25th annual Auburn CityFest on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kiesel Park; the free event will feature Circus Incredible, live music, local food and over 100 arts and crafts vendors.  The Auburn Plainsman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Auburn University students from the Joseph S. Bruno study abroad program are living at the Chigi Palace in Ariccia, Italy and working on Elevate Ariccia projects to boost community engagement and aid small businesses + host clean-ups and English lessons. They also volunteer at the Italian Red Cross refugee center, Mondo Migliore, organizing cultural events + activities for children to foster cross-cultural exchange.  Eagle Eye TV

  • Auburn has signed Division II standout Elyjah Freeman to join its men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season. The 6-foot-8 guard and forward averaged 18.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game at Lincoln Memorial University.  WAKA
  • Auburn women’s basketball coach Larry Vickers added Rodney Hill to his staff as an assistant coach on April 21 — Hill spent two seasons at Texas A&M and brings strong recruiting ties from the south. Hill said he looks forward to working with Vickers to build on the team’s recent success.  WAKA
  • Beauregard High football coach Justin Jones resigned on Monday — he finished with a 25-19 record in four seasons and led the Hornets to three playoff berths, including a quarterfinals trip in 2022.  The Observer
