WAKA Action 8 News was honored with two ABBY Awards at The Club on Red Mountain in Birmingham yesterday.

The station received awards for Best News Feature on a report about Auburn University’s Raptor Center tradition and for Best Service Project for its Tickled Pink breast cancer awareness campaign.

Auburn University awarded 6,090 bachelor’s degrees in 2025 - business administration led with 394 degrees, followed by finance with 366, biomedical sciences with 357, marketing with 355 and exercise physiology with 231.

Auburn baseball lost a series to No. 3 Alabama after the Tigers scored just one run in three games, coach Chris Malveaux said (the pitching was outmatched and offense couldn’t capitalize).

Auburn will look to reset ahead of next weekend’s series against No. 6 Florida in Gainesville.
