  • Auburn Parks and Recreation in partnership with CARE Humane Society will host Bark in the Park at Kiesel Park on March 28 to promote responsible dog ownership + offer rescue dog adoptions.  The Auburn Villager

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Buc-ee’s in Auburn received an F from the Better Business Bureau after 88 complaints over three years cited overcharges and food quality issues. Other local branches, including the Athens store which earned a C-, face similar concerns & await a response.  AL.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Alabama’s board approved new social studies textbooks on Thursday to update lessons with Alabama history, civics, and civil rights. Local school boards will soon choose from the approved options so teachers can move away from outdated materials (labeled ‘junk’ by one teacher).  AL.com

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • TVA will spend over $2 billion cleaning up coal ash from 2026 to 2030, including projects at its Alabama sites, to meet federal and state regulations (the spend is outlined in its SEC report).  AL.com

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Auburn officials approved The Foundry project this month near Shug Jordan Parkway and North College Street — a 282-acre mixed-use development that will add housing, commercial space and an extension of Yarbrough Farms Boulevard, with completion expected to take 15 to 20 years.  AL.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nate Ament scored 27 points as Tennessee rallied from an 11-point deficit on Thursday at the SEC Tournament—scoring 17 in the second half—to beat Auburn 72 to 62. Auburn, now 17-16, hopes a win at Florida will boost its NCAA Tournament chances as Tennessee meets Vanderbilt Friday.  WAKA
