- ➤ The Student Government Association held a Major Candidate Debate Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the Harold D. Melton Student Center Ballroom. - ➤ Two candidates, Willis Orr and Landen Childress, are running for the 2026 Student Government Association president role. Election week starts today at 3 p.m. at Cater Hall with campaigning until Friday, and voting is set for Feb. 6 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the winner announced at 7 p.m. The Auburn Plainsman

- ➤ The local AMC is closed and its 73,000 sqft property at 2111 East University Drive is now listed for sale at $6.95 million, sparking local talk of options such as an ice rink or indoor sports complex. - ➤ Gus Malzahn, the 60-year-old former Auburn head coach who led teams including Auburn, UCF, and Arkansas State, announced his retirement on Feb. 2 — he plans to focus on family after 35 years in coaching and winning a national title as an offensive coordinator. WAKA

- ➤ The American Junior Golf Association presented an $8,000 check to Auburn Adapted Athletics on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum - supporting adaptive sports programs in the Auburn-Opelika community.
