  • Verizon customers, including some in Alabama, experienced service outages with devices limited to SOS calls around 11:00 a.m. Verizon said its engineers are working to restore wireless voice and data services.  WAKA
  • TownePlace Suites by Marriott opened in Opelika near Tiger Town. The hotel offers 88 rooms for business and leisure travelers (including amenities like a saltwater pool and pet-friendly space) with a ribbon-cutting celebration planned today.  WAKA
