- ➤ Area officials, civic leaders and dozens of residents gathered Tuesday morning in Opelika for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Community Market off First Avenue — marking its relocation to a modern building. The Auburn Villager
- ➤ Starting Jan. 23, residents must dial 10-digit numbers for local calls as a new area code overlays 334. New telephone lines may get the 483 code beginning Feb. 23; existing numbers remain unchanged and 911 calls stay the same. WAKA
