Meet the Artist | Douglas Pierre Baulos

About this event

Join artist, educator, and writer Douglas Pierre Baulos to explore a practice that brings together drawing, collage, books, and community-based creative work. Through images and discussion, Baulos will share how art can serve as a space for reflection, connection, and personal expression.

Drawing from decades of artistic practice and teaching, Baulos will offer insights into developing ideas and visual language that bridge art and everyday life. Their work invites audiences to consider how creativity can foster dialogue, encourage healing, and create opportunities for collective imagination and growth.

Baulos is an associate professor of Drawing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and co-director of UAB BLOOM Studios and Dye Garden, initiatives that connect creative practice with public engagement. Their work demonstrates the power of art to build relationships and spark meaningful, insightful conversations across communities.
